Annual Preventive Exam
Primary Care Provider in Mountain View, CA
Annual preventative exams are important because they can find health problems early, improving your chances of treatment and cure. Your annual preventative exam is an important opportunity to identify underlying conditions that may lead to fatigue, poor functioning and disease, if not corrected. It is not uncommon to identify several such conditions, such as low thyroid, iron deficiency, sleep apnea or Vitamin D deficiency, during one annual exam. In line with the focus of our practice, we offer the opportunity for in-depth, personalized diagnosis that leads to a more in-depth health assessment and a more comprehensive and targeted treatment plan.
At Cogent Family Healthcare in Mountain View, we focus on prevention of disease, as well as more strategic and complete intervention. We believe that our unique services, screenings, and treatments give you the necessary steps to live a healthier and more fulfilling life. Preventive care is at the heart of everything we do, and it starts with your annual exam. As your primary care provider, Dr. Stephen Sims is your partner in health. He will educate you on healthy lifestyle choices to help prevent disease and, should you need treatment, he will ensure that you understand your treatment options before you leave our office.
As your partner, we demonstrate accountability, integrity, and compassion in all our interactions. We aim to provide the highest quality of care, consistently exceeding your expectations in all that we do.
During your annual wellness exam, Dr. Sims will perform a detailed physical exam and ask you about any changes in your family medical history or your lifestyle to determine your risk factors for chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, or cancer.
In addition, Dr. Sims will administer both routine and advanced health screenings to help identify any health concerns as early as possible, when you have a greater chance to successfully treat medical issues.
Our preventive health services also include immunizations for children, travel vaccines for those traveling abroad, annual flu shots for children and adults, and pneumonia shots for older adults at risk.
In preparation for your next physical exam, you'll want to complete any forms in advance and make a list of medications you take regularly. Please bring these along with you on the day of your appointment.
Dr. Sims aims to augment traditional medicine by providing a personalized approach to healthcare that puts your unique biological makeup at the center of your care and allows for a greater range of diagnostic tools and cutting-edge treatment options.
The best way to stay on top of your health is by visiting your primary care provider at least once a year. Don’t put it off! Call Cogent Family Healthcare today at (650) 386-0386 to schedule your wellness exam with Dr. Sims.
